AVA & AVA uses high quality single-ply yarn at an optimal 300 thread count (TC) for our 100% Bamboo Lyocell bedding, which makes them irresistibly soft, light, and strong.

WHY NOT HIGHER? —OF SOFTNESS

Typically, people choose high thread count (TC) for softer sheets, but it's not the most important factor; the fabric, yarn, and weave matter more. At 300 TC sateen weave, our Bamboo Lyocell bedding achieves a buttery smooth texture comparable to (or even better than) 1000 TC cotton. Bamboo Lyocell is also softer and lighter than conventional bamboo viscose or rayon.

HIGHER ISN'T BETTER —OF BREATHABILITY

What happens when too many low-quality threads are packed into a square inch? Heavy linens that risk overheating you. At 300 TC, our Bamboo Lyocell bedding offers the hand-feel of 1000 TC Egyptian Cotton while maintaining breathability and thermoregulating properties.

NOT ALL NATURAL FABRICS ARE CREATED EQUAL

These 3 words ensure that each stage, from fiber to finished product, is sustainable and does not involve harmful chemicals.

  • Organic — chemical-free plant growth

Bamboo and flax are grown without pesticides or synthetic fertilizers.

  • Bamboo Lyocell — sustainable fabric production

Pure bamboo fibers are naturally coarse. To make them buttery soft, conventional bamboo fabric involves toxic solvents which are harmful to your health, the planet, workers, and community.

Bamboo Lyocell is a new generation of textiles that involves a closed-loop process (99% of water saved) that uses non-toxic solvents. The result is a truly sustainable fabric that's typically lighter (yet durable) than viscose, allowing it to be more breathable and drape more freely.

  • OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 — chemical-free final product

An independent product label which verifies that the finished fiber contains no residual chemicals which are harmful to health.

OUR LINENS

We care for your health and our planet. Our linens are organic, and we use 100% organic OEKO-TEX® Certified Bamboo Lyocell for our bedding.

Ever been torn about going green —because it's not as stylish, comfortable, durable, nor affordable? In AVA & AVA, you don't have to think twice.

We believe that linens and eco-living should not be boring, complicated, nor unsustainable. We offer fairly priced premium linens, and highlight natural textiles through simple, timeless designs, and thoughtful craftsmanship. This means we don't just focus on the fabric, but everything from production to finished product. It's the details that set us apart!

Read more about our story
We've chosen these two textiles for their amazing natural properties that make them kinder to both our health and the planet's.

They are hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, thermoregulating, sustainably made from fast-growing plants, gentle on even the most sensitive skin and even baby's skin. With these properties, they help keep our skin and hair healthy, and our food fresh.

The luxuriously smooth and soft Bamboo Lyocell is perfect for creating a comfortable sleep environment, while the hardy qualities of Flax Linen make it an ideal textile for the daily wear in the kitchen and table.

Learn more about the benefits of Pure Bamboo Lyocell and Pure Flax Linen.
Pure flax linen has been so often used in the past (from Egyptian bandages and money to Jesus' shroud) that the term "linens" became the general term for fabric household goods, such as bedding, tablecloths, and towels. These days, however, not all linens are made of linen fabric —but most often less expensive polyester or cotton blends.

At AVA & AVA, we make pure linen home essentials you can use for years to come.

Derived naturally from flax, raw linen can be stiff and textured. The more you wash it, however, the more the fibers become softer, stronger, and more beautiful with a slight sheen. To make our fabric soft for you to already enjoy, our linens are stonewashed (literally a large spinning machine with hundreds of pumice stones softening the fabric). This means you skip the difficult process of softening it yourself and no shrinkage.

Caring for Linens

Our linens are made to last, but you can keep them in top shape by caring for them properly. The main culprits that damage ANY fabric are friction, harsh chemicals, heat & UV rays. Natural linens should be treated the same way they were made —natural and free from harsh chemicals.

In a nutshell:
SEPARATE / INSIDE-OUT - COLD water - MILD detergent - LINE dry in shade - NO IRONING necessary

  BAMBOO LYOCELL PURE LINEN
Machine Wash or Handwash Wash inside out, separately. With like colors and fabrics, separate from rough or heavy items (towels, blankets, zippers, buttons, etc). Zip duvet covers closed.
Mild liquid detergent, NO bleach or softener. If you must use powdered, dissolve fully first. Avoid "concentrated".
Cold, gentle cycle.
Dry Line dry in shade (best) or tumble dry low & remove promptly to prevent excessive wrinkling from heat.
Iron Stay wrinkle-free by shaking out between wash and dry. If desired, iron on low. Wrinkles define pure linen (part of the charm!). If desired, iron on high while damp.
Store Store in cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight when not in use. Best in breathable fabric bags. Avoid plastic & cardboard which may attract insects and cause yellowing.

*Pure linen may feel slightly stiff / firm to touch after wash, but will return to original softness when used.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Treat stains ASAP. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to remove. Avoid tumble-drying or ironing before treating the stain as heat sets it.
  • Choose the right water temp to avoid setting the stain. Use WARM for oily/fatty stains; COLD for others (coffee, blood, chocolate, ketchup, red wine, etc).
  • Use gentle stain removers. NO bleach & brighteners, which only fade natural dyes, strip and damage the fibers. Spot test if unsure.
  • Gently rub or dab. Never scrub vigorously.

HOW TO TREAT COMMON STAINS

  • General stain remover using baking soda & vinegar:
    • Step 1 | Sprinkle baking soda and pour some vinegar onto stain. Let sit for 30 minutes. Gently scrub the paste to help lift the stain.
    • Step 2 | If there's residual stain, soak in 1 part vinegar + 4 parts warm water for 30 minutes (better if overnight). For deep stains, you may need to repeat this 2-4 times.
    • Step 3 | Launder as usual.
    • Oxy bleach: You can also use oxy bleach instead of vinegar. Mix a few scoops with warm water and soak overnight. Oxy bleach is color-safe, chlorine-free, and free of harsh chemical smells. It safely and effectively brightens, disinfects, and removes dirt, stains, and odors. Search for 'oxygen bleach' on Lazada/Shopee.
  • Oils (food, body oils, lotions): Spot clean with mild dishwashing liquid, a natural de-greaser. Wet stain with WARM water and gently rub with dishwashing liquid.
  • Fresh/wet blood: Rinse immediately with a blast of cold water so it doesn't set. Gently rub with soap and rinse with COLD water.
  • Dried blood: Apply thick paste of salt + cold water onto stain and let soak 20 mins. Gently rub and rinse with COLD water.
